A time capsule of a New England fall. The DUSK scarf is a one of a kind, hand-dyed art piece that gets its unique colors and prints from the pigments in local leaves. In double gauze cotton, it is a light-medium weight perfect for year-round wear.
When to wear:
All seasons. Pairs well with other natural fibers and naturally dyed clothing. Made for all bodies.
The Fabric: 100% Cotton, double gauze, medium weight.
We chose double gauze cotton because of the rich texture it provides, enhancing dimension from every angle. We love cotton fabric because it helps control moisture, insulate, and provide ultra-soft comfort. This scarf has a "raw edge", meaning that it has not been turned under, which gives it a more lightweight earthy flow. The edges may fray little tiny bits over time but the weave won't let it come unraveled.
The Color:
This piece is hand-dyed in our little Massachusetts studio using foliage found in a nature preserve nearby. It is done in a style called "eco-printing", a technique where plants, leaves, and flowers leave their shapes, color, and marks on fabric as their tannins react with the iron water they are heated in.
Lifecycle:
We believe the garments you love should outlive you. So, we include a complimentary mending kit with every order, which contains matching scrap fabric, matching thread, a sewing needle, and a guide to visible mending. Repair is noble!
Note: Natural dyes are prone to some fading over time, although we use the most colorfast dye methods available. Expect that over its lifetime, the leaf prints and colors may become a slightly lighter shade. We recommend you do not expose this scarf to direct sunlight or high heat for extended periods in order to preserve its natural vibrance for as long as possible.

Care Instructions:
For longest-lasting wear, we recommend you hand wash sparingly with gentle detergent (or even a gentle non-sulfate shampoo, safe for color-treated hair), rinse well, and hang dry in a cool space, out of direct sunlight.
