As an unusual and mystifying tribute to the earth, these unconventional folk clothes hangers are an aesthetically pleasing and organic alternative to the traditional hanger. Each is hand-carved from poplar wood and finely sanded for a soft buttery feel and rustic appearance. The Materials:
Hand-carved from poplar wood and fine-grit sanded for a buttery-soft touch.
Lightweight design. Hangs from a unique, rust-resistant metal s-curved hook.
Wood is finished with pure Tung oil for waterproofing and to bring out the grain in the wood.
Wood piece is 4"x 16.5"x 0.75". Hook hangs 2.25" above that.
 
The Design:
Slanted arms and rounded edges designed to be gentle on delicate fabrics.
Each hanger is made from start to finish by Leah Widdicombe. It goes through a long process: cutting, sanding by hand, wood-burning, and application of several layers of Tung oil finish.
The wood-burned design is an original illustration, done freehand (not on a machine).
Each hanger is signed and dated on the bottom by the artist.
Color is a light natural wood tone with dark brown engraving. Each will have a slightly different wood grain.
Spaghetti strap notches can be added for free, by request.
 
Customization / Personalization:
It is possible to personalize it with a wood-burned engraving on the front or back. You should contact us with what you would like (such as name, wedding date, birth date, etc), and you will be sent a mockup.

Tung oil is non-toxic but leaves a slight scent for up to 2 weeks after it has cured. If there is any lingering scent when you receive it (although unlikely), simply hang it in a well-ventilated area until it has subsided.
