Intro
Hi from Olympia, WA. I started sewing 2 years ago when a friend asked if I knew anyone who could sew the sails for the sailboat he was building. I thought it sounded like a perfect first sewing project and went out and bought a sewing machine. I haven’t stopped sewing since (and I am happy to report the sails were a success!)
Looking forward to joining this lovely community and learning from everyone. My next project is the Canary Top. The pattern just arrived on my doorstep!

And welcome from another Washingtonian — Sequim, out on the Olympic Peninsula. Your post made me laugh. Sails on a sailboat for a first project! Congratulations! I have sewn a lot over the years - but had set things down for quite a while until that day my daughter brought a banjo home and it needed a case, so of course I said, “I can make that!” Lol. I ended up buying a heavier machine to tackle cushions for my son‘s sailboat (which would’ve been handy for the banjo case). And the journey continues… 🙃
